Col David Hancock

 

Probably one of most of the best things about dogs is that through them You get to know  some interesting and impressive people from all over the whole world.

 

During my research on the Braque Saint Germain I had the opportunity to get in touch with Col David Hancock (MBE). People would describe him as a true dog man - He is not only a judge for a lot of different breeds, but a true practitioner who never loose track for what the breed actually was bred for. His knowledge came from his various journeys all over the world where he could see the breeds in their origin and work. He was able to live his passion being a director of a museum in GB which contained a Rare Breed Center of all kinds of domestic stock. During his life he collected and maintained more that 5.000 depictions and images of dogs and which meanwhile are housed by the UK Kennel Club. He is well respected as an author of books as well as articles in Uk and abroad. Please take special notice of his books about Gundogs and Hounds.
