The Braque Saint Germain

The Braque Saint Germain is an old french hunting breed,  bred for especially for the french king to hunt small game.  Originally a crossbreed between the pointer and the old shorthaired French  Pointing dogs the BSG now is used a versatile hunting dog. It is known as the fastest pointing dog of the continentals and is characterized by his fine nose, easy training, very good obidience and close relationship to his master. Furthermore it is a natural retriever. Unfortunatly the BSG today is more than a rare breed und deserves more attention. In France the few dogs are very successful in competition and the results in Germany are more than impressive. The breed matures more slowly and reaches his peak often not before 6-7 years.

Despite of the small population the BSG is a rather healthy breed.

Please find more Information in English in my article in "Countrymens weekly"  under Presse in the German section.

Weika du verger des  pommes – VBBFL 023/2010

VJP, TAN, VAP, AZP, BP

Weika is a little swot. Always happy natured and eager to work.
Kind to handle she also needs a lot of run-out. She has a natural „will to please“  and when it comes to hunting she works proactivly. In Germany she hunts on roe deer and broars, but on pheasants she is a real spectacle. She also retrieves ducks and cormorans out oft the water.

She is out of the finest old french working lines „Du Bois d’Heilly“  of the late Gilbert Lenglet and Xavier Thibaults „de Feux Mignons“. In these lines You’ll find a lot of Champions and Trialers.
